Thomsons Foodservice showcased more than 50 food and drink suppliers at its second trade show in Dumfries. The aim of the business-to-business event at The Cairndale Hotel on February 26th 2020 was to highlight Thomsons’ product range to current and potential customers. The firm’s new product brochure was launched on the same day.

More than 50 suppliers took part, including over 20 local and Scottish businesses – one from as far as Orkney. This showcased a wide range of products, from compostable coffee cups, to cakes, cheese, eggs, hotdogs, noodles and ice cream. This was the second time that Thomsons has held such an event, and the family firm was delighted with how it went.
Sales Director, Jackie Watt, who runs the award-winning business with her husband Michael, said:
“It was a huge success. We thought the first show two years ago was good, but this one was amazing.”
Cookery demonstrations proved popular highlights during the day, with chefs Tony Budde, of Dumfries & Galloway College; Douglas Lisi, of the Tigh Na Mara Hotel in Sandhead, near Stranraer, and Thomas Francis, of Home restaurant in Dumfries, all creating dishes.
